Songbird 

This piece shows male Morpho rhetenor cacica butterflies feeding at a dead Zonotrichia capensis (rufous-collared sparrow) with Oxelytrum sp. Carrion beetles. These species are found in Peru and are just a tiny part of the constant cycle of life and death which often has surprising beauty.

The prints have a border around them as shown, this can be hidden by a mount sized to fit an A4 image, or can be part of the display if set in a larger mount, as the piece can look nice set against black or white. 

The original piece was painted with acrylics on wood.
