An extraordinary longhorn beetle, Petrognatha gigas has some of the most intricate textures of any giant beetle, perfectly cryptically camouflaged against dead wood. Even the shape of the antennae and legs have irregular waves to mimic woodgrain and roots.
These are particularly large examples of the species, male 74mm, female 67mm.
